Terms of service

The agreement for using the Video Piper API, web app and docs. Last updated October 3, 2026.

Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you (or the organisation you represent) and Video Piper ("we", "us") for use of Video Piper: the API, web app, documentation and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you're accepting them for an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to do so.

Accounts and API keys

Your content

You own the videos you upload and the outputs made from them ("Your Content"). You give us the permission we need to host, copy, process, transcode, edit, redact and deliver Your Content, only to provide the Service to you. This permission ends when you delete Your Content, apart from copies we briefly keep in short-lived backups or intermediate files, which are deleted on their normal schedule.

You confirm you have the rights and any consents needed to upload Your Content, including from people who appear in it, and that our processing it on your instructions won't break the law or anyone's rights.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.

Plans, usage and payment

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time, and delete your videos yourself. We may suspend or end your access if you materially break these terms, if your use creates a security or legal risk, or if we stop offering the Service (with 30 days' notice where possible). After termination you have 30 days to download Your Content; after that we delete it, except billing records we must keep.

The Service

We work to keep the Service reliable and secure, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every file can be processed. Keep your own copies of important originals. We may improve or change features; if a change significantly reduces core functionality of a paid plan, we'll tell you in advance. Any uptime commitment (SLA) applies only if it's in a separate written agreement.

Disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Automated features such as redaction tracking follow the regions you define; check outputs before relying on them to protect sensitive information.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Each party's total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits don't apply to your payment obligations, your breach of the acceptable use rules, or liability that can't be limited by law.

Indemnity

You'll defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these terms, provided we promptly notify you and let you control the defence.
